The primary trane furnace problem that homeowners run into is having their furnace fail to turn on when they adjust the temperature.
Trane furnace blower motor wont turn on.
But when power is applied it will lock up and hum.
It could be a bad run capacitor or it could have a worn motor bearing that won t let it start.
Turn the power to the furnace off and disconnect the wires from the thermostat.
Check your blower motor if your furnace still won t turn on you don t need to know what a blower motor is to check that it is working properly.
Switching to fan on also doesn t get it to start.
If you can make the blower run then we know the problem is not with the blower motor or drive belt or assembly and we d go to step two.
Fortunately this is a fairly easy problem to detect.
Your system won t turn on.
Your system probably has a manual fan on switch on the thermostat or if not there may be a fan on push pull switch right on the fan limit switch in the air handler.
Next go to your furnace and check on the furnace itself and surrounding walls for another on off switch or circuit breaker and ensure that it is on as well.
I have a trane ycc030f1m0b.
Tie the red and white wires together and switch the power on.
If the bearing is bad the fan will still spin freely with power off usually.
When i turn on the heat the house blower and draft blower come on but after about 30 seconds or so the draft motor goes off and the furnace never lights.
Replace the wire or thermostat to fix the problem.
If the fan does not start you have a wiring issue circuit breaker trips or motor problem circuit breaker does not trip.
Your furnace blower fan not starting can have a few causes as you see here.
If your furnace won t turn on go to your furnace if it is accessible to you and peak in the little plastic window on the side of it most modern furnaces will have a window.
Check that the circuit breaker to your furnace is not off but also understand that it is not uncommon for your blower motor the fan to have a separate circuit breaker so check this as well.

If your furnace won t turn on it is usually either a problem with the circuit breaker or with the thermostat.
If you see or hear the fan turn on your blower motor is not the culprit.
